Time Guidelines for Dan Examinations in Tae Kwon Do

 

 

             

1st Gup to I Dan –

6 months to 12 months Active Training

 

 

 

              

I Dan to II Dan –

18 months to 24 months Active Training

 

 

 

              

II Dan to III Dan –

30 months to 36 months Active Training

 

 

 

            

III Dan to IV Dan –

42 months to 48 months Active Training in TKD

 

*Students to achieve this level are required as part of the learning and maturity process

 to have 120 hours of Instructor Training.*

 

 

            

IV Dan to V Dan –

54 months to 60 months Active Training

*Students at this level must be actively teaching Tae Kwon Do

 

 

 

V Dan to VI Dan -

66 to 72 months Active Training and Teaching Tae Kwon Do

 

 

 

            

VI Dan to VII Dan Master -

78 to 84 months Active Training and Teaching Tae Kwon Do

 

 

 

           

VII Dan to VIII Dan Master –

90 months to 96 months Active Training and Teaching Tae Kwon Do

 

 

 

  

VIII Dan Master to IX Dan Grand Master –

102 months to 108 months Active Training and Teaching Tae Kwon Do
